Many people might associate GPS tracking with a cheating spouse investigation, but there are so many more applications. For example, we have used GPS tracking for theft investigations, intelligence gathering, fraud investigations, and criminal investigations.

A lot of private investigators shy away from GPS tracking because they think it is illegal. However, when implemented properly, GPS tracking is a very effective and legal way to gather information.

Although, there are some issues that need to be considered prior to placing a GPS device. Being all investigations are different, we provide free consultations to allow you to understand your options and the probability of success for your investigation.

Give us a call at 602-445-6463

Arizona Hotels and Resorts

The Arizona Republic recently wrote an article about infidelity at valley hotels and resorts and I provided a little information for the story. SEBIA, LLC often works these kinds of cases and we are very successful. You can read the article here:

http://www.azcentral.com/business/articles/0213biz-resortcheaters0214-ON.html

I would like to relate a few stories to you about cases I have worked at Arizona resorts and some of the methods and techniques I use to document peoples activities.

As a licensed private investigator, I am bound by ethics and law not to disclose client information. Therefore, I have removed all personally identifying information and will not even identify the resort (although I have worked at most of them.)

Some Arizona resorts are harder to work in than others. It's not the staff or security that makes it hard, but more so the physical layout of the resort. Some of our resorts have detached cottages and villas that make locating the subject of surveillance very difficult. Sometimes it might take a day to locate the subjects room number depending on the information provided by my client. As you know, the resort will absolutely not provide this information so I have to develop it through surveillance, subterfuge, and tenacity.

Once I have the room number I will develop a surveillance plan depending on the physical location of the room, the hotel amenities, and what the subject of the investigation is doing at the hotel. (For example. if he or she there for a meeting or some specific event.)

Usually, these surveillance's require I have a room at the hotel so I can move freely throughout the hotel and access the restricted areas such as the pool and after hours security doors. The security at the resorts is usually not an issue. I blend in with every other resort patron and security is never the wiser. To make things more believable, I will often employ the assistance of my family during the surveillance. Using this technique, I can hide a video camera in my child's stroller and easily follow a couple to their room. I am able to get great video of them entering the room together and prove they were staying together at the resort.

Here is a real life example:

Another time I was able to video my child playing in the pool. Well, kind of. It just happened that my subject of surveillance and her newly acquired boyfriend were kissing behind the area where my child was swimming. Using this method, I could actually read their lips and make out what they were talking about ... well, when they were talking.

It takes skill and resourcefulness to successfully work a surveillance case while at a resort. I hope this has been informative and slightly entertaining. I would love to hear your thoughts and ideas!

Best wishes,

Stoney E.
